Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil (plus more for frying)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 10 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup queso sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
- Salsa con queso for serving
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic; cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and taco seasoning to the skillet, cooking until the beef is browned and crumbly, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess liquid.
- In another large skillet, heat additional oil over low heat for frying.
- Spread a teaspoon of queso sauce onto a tortilla. Place 1/4 cup of the browned beef mixture in the center and top with 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese.
- Roll up the tortilla and secure with a toothpick. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Carefully place the rolled tortillas into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Transfer to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
